Our headquarters are based in Kings Langley, with UK offices in Cambridge, Bristol and Manchester too.

However, our new Hybrid Working Framework fully supports remote working as often or little as you like.

It's not all work, work, work

We love it when colleagues become friends. Whether you’re a keen runner or an avid bookworm, you’ll find a like-minded crowd who share your passions.

We also have a very active Sports & Social Club where you can enjoy anything from weekly sports, fun events and theatre trips throughout the year – all generously subsidised.

What are our placements like?

Take a look at some feedback we’ve received from those who have had placements at Imagination

I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, intelligent, and insightful group of people to work with!

During my time at Imagination, I felt more like an employee than an intern. Being paired with a supervisor and having regular 1:1 meetings provided a great feedback loop of ideation and iteration, which proved invaluable as I dug deeper into my assigned project. Solving hard problems as part of such a fast-paced team is a challenging but super rewarding learning curve. The skills and technical knowledge I’ve gained during my internship have opened my eyes to field of research, and I cannot wait to learn more. Thanks Imagination!

I spent my summer interning within IMG labs as a placement student: I can only recommend it for students interested in AI research and wondering what an innovative and impactful research environment looks like! I have learned a great deal within the span of three months, both in terms of my research interests and practical skills, regardless of the placement being remote. I have had the pleasure of meeting brilliant people, working with caring and friendly supervisors/mentors who were as curious about and engaged in the summer research project as I was!

If you join Imagination, you can be certain that you will be valued in your team as an independent and productive member, while also getting the help and guidance you need given the close support of your manager and mentors. Come to Imagination if you wish to cultivate a curious mind and ask questions while improving your technical skill set!

Over the summer of 2021 I was fortunate enough to work in the AI Research team at Imagination as a summer placement. An aspect I particularly liked about working at Imagination was the ability to work on an impactful (and interesting!) project. I was given enough independence within the team to solve problems by myself and learn new skills through experimentation and practice. Additionally, the mentorship I received during the summer placement was fantastic. My manager and mentor during my placement wouldn’t hesitate to pause our 1-1 meetings to explain important new concepts to me. These meetings also provided time for my mentor to review the code I had written and make suggestions, which is extremely useful when you’re new to programming in a professional environment.

In short, I was given superb support to expand my knowledge in AI and improve my technical skills.

FAQs

We typically begin advertising for roles towards the end of the calendar year, into the new year and will then plan to fill these roles by the end of the first quarter of the new year.

Our most common placement durations are short-term and mid-term, which are three months and six months. We sometimes offer annual placements.

The length of the placement will be noted in the advertisement and/or early in the application process.

Our recruitment process will mostly follow the below steps:

  • These paid roles will be either three month, six months or annual placements.
  • We will then review applicants and begin the interview process which will consist of:
    • A test related to the position available.
    • An informal screening.
    • Followed by a formal interview – either in office or via a video call.
  • Once interviews are complete, we will again review applications and look to make offers within the first quarter of the new year.
  • Selected applications will look to begin their placement in June and remain for the agreed time.

Yes, of course you can!

We can offer roles to students that are on a Tier 4 student VISA, as you will have a right to work in the UK.

For successful applicants, we can support the work VISA process where possible.

Usually graduates aren’t interested in internship-style roles, and instead should look to apply for graduate hires.

However, we will not refuse someone who has, or is close to completing their final year. But do be aware this is an internship programme.

We have had many successes that have become job offers for the individual once they have completed their degree.

We call this placement conversion.

While it is not guaranteed, should you impress us, there is a high chance there could be a position offered to you.

You will be based in any of offices that are local to you, and we also offer and embrace hybrid and remote working.
