The Role
Imagination Technologies has a proud history of SoC development. From our first steps into the exciting world of advanced 3D graphics developments the IMGWorks SoC team now produce complete, extremely powerful, silicon solutions for a vast array of graphics, wireless, video processing, and high performance embedded processing for customer driven applications. The team is involved in the complete design cycle from customer requirements, specification, coding, verification and logic synthesis to physical design, prototype qualification and production.
An SoC Development Engineer is responsible for taking design concepts, implementing them, and seeing if they work in real world environments. The SoC Development Engineer is the lynchpin of all SoC operations and is critical to the production of a fully functional ASIC.
Primary responsibilities will include
- Produce block and system level IP specifications from customer requirements
- Design RTL to meet the required specification
- Verify IP to a level described by a verification plan
- Integrate new and existing IP blocks into SoC architecture
- Synthesize RTL for targeted ASIC development
- Provide hardware assistance for lab-based silicon verification

- FPGA/ASIC design experience
- Advanced verification tools and modelling language knowledge, e.g. ‘e’ modelling language, constrained random verification, System C.
- Experience of lab bring-up and diagnostic tools
- Static timing analysis experience
- Microsoft Office (or equivalent)

Qualifications
1st or /2.1 class first degree in electronic engineering or computer science.
1-2 years experience.
