UCCP310 Communications IP Platform


The ENSIGMA™ UCCP310 IP platform is the first platform to be based on the new Series 3 UCC (Universal Communications Core) architecture. The Series 3 architecture brings connectivity standards, starting with Wi-Fi, to the UCC alongside broadcast reception, plus hardware support for multiple receive antennas to be used for diversity reception or simultaneous multi-channel demodulation. The UCCP310 itself adds support for 802.11abg connectivity and ATSC digital TV reception alongside standards previously available on the UCCP230.

The ENSIGMA UCCP310 IP platform is built around Series 3 of Imaginations’ UCC programmable radio technology, which provides physical layer demodulation and modulation. A 32-bit embedded controller performs system housekeeping, manages data-link processing for DVB-H and 802.11, and distributes data using the platform’s own DMA controller.

The platform enables a true multi-standard subsystem in a similar silicon footprint to many competing single standard solutions, realising industry leading performance in all standards for all key parameters, such as sensitivity, noise, Doppler, and CCI.

UCCP310 provides a complete baseband solution having digitized signal inputs (complex or real) and complex outputs for connection to an AFE and RF transceiver/tuner, with the option of both master and slave bus interfaces for data and control connections providing easy SoC integration.
