We make sure new recruits are supported by more experienced team-mates and their progress is regularly, but informally, reviewed. Wherever possible work is allocated to small teams and as a member of such a team you’ll be able to engage with the role and make a real difference. Opportunities may be possible for movement between disciplines and areas of specialization, as may opportunities to travel and work in different locations, both nationally and internationally.

Every year we hold company-wide get-togethers like the Christmas Party, Summer Ball and Summer BBQ. Our active Sports & Social club organizes and subsidises sports events and social activities, such as theatre­trips, football, go-kart racing, barbecues, golf days, pub and boardgames nights, climbing sessions, meals out, helicopter taster sessions, and more.

Communication within the organization is key to our success. Everyone gets together at 10.30 on Wednesdays to enjoy ‘Treat of the Week’ – sometimes a donut, sometimes a pastry, but always an opportunity to meet more people and keep in touch with others, whatever their team and discipline. Our lunch’n’learns – informal presentations given by topic experts – are hugely popular and promote
greater understanding of what the whole company does. To this end we also have Imagineer, a quarterly newsletter that keeps everyone informed about what’s going on.

We support good causes wherever possible. Ten charities a year are chosen by our employees and supported through the year. We run an internal recycling programme. We also run a company-wide collection of supermarket vouchers for local schools.
