In June of 2013, Imagination previewed it's new Series5 Warrior generation of MIPS-based processor cores. The Warrior generation will include new core IP comprised of new processor families covering entry level, mid range, and high end processor core solutions covering a wide variety of application requirements. Key technologies such as SIMD, virtualization, multi-threading, 64-bit CPUs and enhanced 32-bit addressing will be made available at various product points within the Warrior series. Each family delivers top Coremark performance in its class, and achieves that performance very efficiently in silicon and power.
Series5 Warrior Processor Cores
The first of the new Series5 Warrior generation of processor cores, the P5600 core is a superscalar, deeply out-of-order MIPS32® Release 5 processor core that includes 128-bit SIMD, hardware virtualization, 40-bit extended physical addressing, and significantly improved performance on system-oriented software workloads. The P5600 CPU IP core offers leading silicon power and area efficiency and builds on the strengths of the proAptiv CPU, which achieved the highest CoreMark/MHz score reported for any licensable IP core. Available in single and multi-core product versions, this core is ideal for applications processing in mobile, connected consumer electronics and networking applications.
