Elements Interactive, based in the Netherlands, is the developer of industry-leading multi-platform mobile game platform EDGE. The platform is written from scratch in C++ and is fully optimized for use on embedded devices such as mobile phones, PDA's and handheld consoles.

The EDGE platform supports Windows Mobile up to 5.0, Symbian up to version 9.1, including Series 60, Series 80 and Series 90, Symbian UIQ up to 3.0, the GP2X handheld console and Windows desktop. Additional platforms are planned or scheduled.

The feature-rich SDK guarantees true multi-platform development, offers high performance graphics and includes built-in support for DirectX, Symbian Direct Screen Access, color filters, blitlets, RGBA surfaces, TCP/IP and Bluetooth network connectivity, advanced handling of input, dynamic clipping, text drawing, collision detection, compression, file manipulation, timers and much more.

Support for OpenGL ES, the OpenGL 3D graphics API designed for embedded devices, is planned for the EDGE SDK 3.00 release in the first quarter of 2007.

EDGE powered games and application run on Windows desktop with zero code changes to ease development and testing. Additional debugging tools for Windows are available. The EDGE IDE building tool, included in the SDK, simplifies building across the supported platforms, cutting down development and testing time.

A growing number of mobile games are powered by EDGE, including Tetraedge's hit graphical adventures Syberia and Return to Mysterious Island and Elements Interactive's award-winning Quartz 2 multi-player puzzle game and cartoony platformer Li-Nuggz. The EDGE SDK, free for non-commercial use, can be downloaded from www.edgelib.com.
