Samsung Electronics has licensed the POWERVR MBX 3D graphics solution for use in high-end mobile APs (Application Processors) for smartphones, feature phones and other mobile products. POWERVR MBX is used as a graphics accelerator in an application processor for compelling mobile applications such as user interface (UI) and wireless gaming, ensuring long battery life and high memory efficiency. Samsung has also signed a licence agreement which enables Samsung to manufacture semiconductor devices which integrate certain POWERVR SGX graphics and VXD video IP cores from Imagination.
