Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), has licensed Imagination's POWERVR MBX and MBX Lite graphics cores for integration with TI's OMAP 2™ family of application processors for mobile devices and POWERVR SGX for use in the OMAP 3™ family. More recently TI licensed a second member of Imagination’s POWERVR SGX graphics core family for use in its future OMAP application processor product family under a multiple-use license arrangement.

The POWERVR MBX family provides very compact and efficient 2D/3D graphics solutions for wireless multimedia devices, optimised for low power and high performance. The POWERVR SGX family provides next generation shader-based graphics and video technology cores which exceed OpenGL 2.0 shader and Microsoft Vertex and Pixel Shader Model 3 requirements.

The POWERVR cores, coupled with applications processors, deliver best in class processing performance for advanced and compelling mobile applications including user interface (UI), navigation, 3D gaming, videoconferencing, multimedia messaging services (MMS) and many other services, while still delivering industry-leading low power consumption.
