Future Forward: the Imagination Tech Summit returns to Santa Clara for 2017

Sitting at the heart of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara is well known for the large number of tech companies headquartered in the city. While last year, as host of the 50th Super Bowl, it attracted attention of a different type, this year the focus is once again on technology and on 8 March 2017 the Imagination Tech Summit takes place at the Hyatt Regency hotel.

As ever in the tech industry, there is much to play for. We are on the cusp of a wave of innovation across automotive and IoT, while AR and VR are poised to break into the mainstream of the consumer market. And while the sectors are deemed mature, the demand for ever greater performance from our smartphones and tablets never fades. In particular, the demands on devices considered to be mid-range are ever increasing.

Networking is another area of increasing growth. More devices require connectivity in and out of the home, and security is an issue that is shifting rapidly from the periphery to a primary concern of device manufacturers and consumers.

The Imagination Tech Summit is a great opportunity to get on top of these subjects for the short-to-medium term and into the future. Indeed, our tagline for the event is: Future Forward – what do you need now to succeed in 2025?

At the event, you’ll be able to find out first-hand how our PowerVR graphics, MIPS CPUs and Ensigma wireless communications cores are industry-leading technologies, efficiently designed to offer the best performance within ultra-low power envelopes. We’ll have demos on hand for you to see and you’ll be able to discuss your projects with us at length and in confidence.

You’ll also have the attraction of a day of thought-provoking keynotes and talks. You’ll be addressed by our CEO, Andrew Heath and we are delighted to have Mark Papermaster, CTO of leading semiconductor company AMD deliver a keynote address.

Other keynotes will discuss how autonomous cars will help to create smart cities, we’ll look at the rise of augmented reality, and we’ll establish why heterogeneous computing is the way forward for designing the SoCs of the future.

IoT, AI and 5G will also be covered off and the changing requirements of the market for SoC-based GPUs will be examined.

It promises to be a fascinating day for anyone looking to keep abreast of the latest in the SoC industry. You can take a look at the full schedule for the summit and you can register now from our website.

On the day please take part by tweeting using the hashtags #IMG_TechSummit and #FutureForward. We look forward to seeing you there.
