Previously known as the NGP (Next Generation Portable, Sony has now announced the name of its new hand held games console at E3, Vita (Latin for ‘Life’.)
There will be both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi/3G models of the games console. This means that gamers can communicate with each other over their consoles.
Along with the two analogue sticks the Vita will have a multi-touch capacitive touch screen and a multi-touch rear touch pad, the console will also have Sixaxis motion control and built in GPS. Vita will have both front and rear cameras, possibly allowing for video calling between users.
Vita uses POWERVR SGX graphics technology giving the console the high performance graphics processing capabilities that any serious games console would need.
There is still no news about when Vita will be available but we will let you know when it is.
