PageUp Potential Data Breach

Imagination wishes to advise you that PageUp has discovered unauthorised activity on their system, which we use for the storage of personal data collected through the recruitment portal at

On May 23, 2018, PageUp detected unusual activity on its IT infrastructure and immediately launched a forensic investigation. On May 28, 2018 its investigations revealed that they have some indicators that client data may have been compromised; a forensic investigation with assistance from an independent 3rd party is currently on-going. Further information and FAQs are available on the PageUp website.

We have been in regular communication with PageUp to understand the implications of this activity whilst they continue with their investigations.

If any personal data has been affected it could include any information provided to Imagination as part of the job application process, and vary on a case by case basis.

We recommend that any person who has applied for a position with Imagination check to ensure that there has been no recent unusual activity concerning their personal information and maintain a close watch on the use of their personal information.

There is no evidence that there is still an active threat, and the Imagination careers website can continue to be used. All client user and candidate passwords in the PageUp database are encrypted – being hashed using bcrypt and salted – however we are requiring that users change their password when they next log in to the system.
