Going a little further
If you have enjoyed the numerate elements of your studies so far (maths, physics, electronics or computing), then going onto further study at A level in these subjects is the kind of thing we look for.
If you want to become a hardware or software engineer – you need to be considering studying at university and taking subjects like Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering. There are actually a lot of degrees that we are interested in – although the majority are either Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
If you want to become a software engineer it’s a good idea to choose a course that teaches you the ‘C’ or ‘C++’ programming language as that is the main programming language that we and other companies in our industry use. Better still, have a go at teaching yourself.
At Imagination we offer scholarships and internships for students at university, so keep us in mind when you go and apply to us. This can help you with financing university but also crucially help you to secure a graduate job in advance – so all you have to do is concentrate on your studies as your job is already sorted! How cool is that.
