London UK: Imagination Technologies, a leader in system-on-chip intellectual property (SoC IP), won twice at the Elektra 05 awards, held this year at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 27 September.

As well as taking the ‘Design Application Award’ for its digital radio IP platform, Imagination Technologies won the prestigious Company of the Year award. Imagination was chosen as the overall winner, scooping this honour ahead of the other award winning companies at Elektra 05.

Says Hossein Yassaie, CEO, Imagination Technologies: “”;As Hermann Hauser made clear in his speech at the event, European companies are key to the fast growing mobile market on which so many major electronics innovations are now focused. We are delighted to be a part of that trend and to have achieved recognition from the Elektra judges with the Company of the Year award.””;

Organised by the Reed Electronics Group, the awards ceremony brings together the entire electronics community and celebrates the organisations and people who have achieved some of the very highest standards in the industry over the past year. An independent panel of industry experts judged the awards. Imagination Technologies was also short-listed in the ‘Research & Development’ and ‘Supplier of the Year’ categories.

Imagination Technologies develops and licenses innovative silicon and software intellectual property (IP) for system-on-chip (SoC) devices targeting multimedia and communication applications.

Imagination develops three fundamental silicon IP core families: PowerVR for graphics/display/video; META for RISC/DSP processing; and UCC for broadcast and consumer communications. These core technologies, and a range of supporting IP, are licensed to partners worldwide including six of the world’s top 10 semiconductor companies.

A top 10 worldwide silicon IP company, Imagination has leading market share in DAB digital radios, supplies the de facto standard for advanced graphics on mobile phones, and is a leading provider of IP platforms for mobile TV and TV solutions.

Imagination Technologies’ IP is used in mobile devices, digital TV and radio receivers, in-car information and entertainment systems, PCs, arcade / gaming machines and games consoles.
