NXP Semiconductors signs agreement with Imagination for graphics technology

Imagination Technologies Group plc (LSE:IMG; “”Imagination””) a leader in System-on-Chip Intellectual Property (“”SoC IP””) – reports that NXP Semiconductors (“”NXP””) has signed a multi-use licence agreement for a member of Imagination’s POWERVR SGX graphics IP family. This agreement is initially focussed on SoC devices targeting digital consumer electronics applications including HDTV and Set-Top Box (STB).

Christos Lagomichos, executive vice president and general manager of the Home business unit of NXP says: “”NXP sees that graphics will increasingly become a mandatory requirement for TV and STB as consumer expectations for advanced user interface (UI), graphics rich applications such as games, and Internet content, continue to grow.
