RNS: New Multimedia Accelerator Featuring Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR Cores

London, UK: Imagination Technologies a leader in SoC IP reports that the Intel 2700G multimedia accelerator, an advanced graphics and video processor for mobile and embedded devices utilises PowerVR cores from Imagination Technologies.

The Intel 2700G multimedia accelerator chip, optimized for the Intel PXA27x processor family, delivers a rich multimedia entertainment experience while helping to extend device battery life. The Intel 2700G multimedia accelerator incorporates a PowerVR MBX graphics core and PowerVR video acceleration and display processing cores from Imagination Technologies.

Under the terms of its licensing arrangements Imagination Technologies receives royalty revenues on devices incorporating Imagination Technologies’ IP shipped by partners.

The Intel 2700G Multimedia Accelerator is available for sampling by customers now and will be in volume production later this year.
