PowerVR Image Signal Processor (ISP)

PowerVR Raptor image signal processor (ISP) cores are part of our PowerVR vision and AI IP family and join other PowerVR GPU multimedia cores to form a complete, integrated vision platform that saves power and bandwidth for today’s camera applications and other smart sensors.

PowerVR Raptor cores are low-power, highly-configurable image signal processor (ISP) cores designed for SoC integration.


PowerVR Series2 Raptor ISP


The Raptor family offers a full hardware solution, to perform the tasks required to produce high quality images from a CMOS sensor.

These tasks include:

  • Lens shading correction
  • Black level correction
  • Demosaic
  • Tone mapping
  • Noise reduction
  • Scaling

The core can be configured to meet the needs of a wide variety of markets including mobile, automotive, surveillance and industrial. The core is scalable across a wide range of sensor resolutions, and performance points to ensure that the optimal solution is achieved for each market. The configuration options include the ability to support multiple cameras simultaneously with a single sensor, support of dual outputs of different resolutions for multiple encode. A wide range of image sensor bit depths can also be configured.
