Wi-Fi 6 for IoT and Low-Power Markets

Thursday 16th April 2020 | 11:00 am CET

With each new IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standard data throughput has been improved to deal with the ever-increasing demand from new applications and the latest variant, IEEE 802.11ax, now known as Wi-Fi 6, continues this trend. Along with greater throughput, it also introduces new features that enable it to perform much more efficiently and robustly in dense environments, resulting in a much greater usable performance for end-users.

However, for low-power, low-data-rate, battery-operated applications, other wireless standards have been preferred, as Wi-Fi traditionally has been considered to be less power efficient. Wi-Fi 6 is designed to address this problem.

During this session, we will discuss how this is achieved and why Wi-Fi 6/IEEE 802.11ax 20MHz is the perfect choice for the IoT/wearables/low-power Wi-Fi markets, and why it should be considered over the older IEEE 802.11n standard.

Join this webinar to:

  • Learn about the new Wi-Fi 6 key features in Wi-Fi 6/IEEE 802.11ax
  • Discover how the balances power consumption, throughput, and range to deliver optimal performance in battery-operated IoT applications.
  • Understand why the Wi-Fi 6 should become the preferred choice for IoT
